Event Details:
- Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
- Time: 6 PM to 8 PM
- Location: Katy Geissert Library, Community Room, 3301 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503
- Parking: Enjoy plenty of free parking available behind the library and the Plunge
What to Expect: It’s our favorite month to come together, make our voices heard, and give a little something back to the bedrock of our community — our wonderful library!
We’re so grateful for the library’s generosity in letting us meet in such a beautifully “sedimentary” setting. Bring rocks or other interesting artifacts to donate for sale in the silent auction!

What’s in store:
Every pebble of profit we raise goes directly to the library to buy new books (who doesn’t love books??) — especially in geology, geography, and earth sciences. We even get to help pick the titles that will make the cut!
Get Involved!
- Bring rocks and stuff to donate for the auction! Gemstones, fossils, minerals, crafted jewelry — anything that will make fellow rockhounds ooh and aah.
- Bid generously: Don’t take it for granite — every bid supports the library and helps fuel learning for students and future geologists.
- Have fun: Let’s make this auction a boulder success than ever!
- Spread the word: Tell your friends about this meeting!!
Don’t forget!! We are rolling back daylight savings back to standard time on Sunday!

Do you mean the 4th?

This was always a fun event for me. I remember going to $60 for a silver ring. It was a bidding war between me and the person that created the ring. So fun to win. The funny thing is, I still have the ring and never wore it. LOL. I say. if you love it. Buy it and show the other person who is in charge 😉 Love your club. I had joined back in 1973, First field trip was in 1974 to the Copper World Mine. I believe Ron Wood was the field trip chair. May God bless you all and HAVE FUN. Bob Henderson.
